John W. Weingardt, CPA

Principal

John W. Weingardt, CPA, is a shareholder of Crossroads with over 35 years of experience in public accounting. His public accounting experience has been with a national CPA firm as well as a sole practitioner. John’s experience has an emphasis in taxation, closely held businesses, estate planning, and exit planning for business owners.

John has assisted our clients with their tax and small business consulting needs. John is skilled in all phases of the entrepreneurial journey including formation, tax-saving strategies, profit improvement, and the eventual sale and monetization of the business owner’s interest in the business.

John is a graduate cum laude from the University of Indianapolis with a Bachelor’s of Science in accounting, economics, and business administration. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Indiana and is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and the American Institute of CPA’s. 

John is active in politics in the City of Fishers. He currently serves as a City Councilor and is chair of the Budget and Finance Committee. He is on the board of directors at Launch Fishers, an entrepreneurial workplace in Fishers, the Fishers Police Foundation, the Riverview Health Foundation, and Phoenix Theater. In his spare time, he enjoys classic car collecting and spending time with family and friends.

John lives in Fishers, Indiana with his wife of 38 years, Tina. John has three children: Ashley (Chris); Abby (Ben), and John (Sarah). John also has five grandchildren (Ellie, Quinn, Clara, Birdie, and Baker).

Michael A. Potter, CPA

Principal

Mike Potter, CPA is a shareholder and managing principal of Crossroads with over 30 years of public accounting experience. His focus is on assurance services, buy-sell transactional consulting, and management advisory services.

 

Mike began his career in 1987 with an international accounting firm specializing in audits for publicly traded companies. He ultimately joined Crossroads starting the firm’s audit and assurance services practice area in 1992. He became a partner with the firm in 1996. Mike directs the firm’s assurance services across a broad spectrum of closely-held and not-for-profit entities.

 

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ball State University. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Indiana and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. 

 

Mike serves on the board of the Megan S. Ott Foundation and is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Riley Festival.

 

Mike and his wife live in Greenfield, Indiana and are the proud parents of three sons and one daughter and the proud grandparents of four (and counting) grandchildren. In his spare time, Mike enjoys whitewater rafting, hiking, and traveling.
